Our strongest keratin, with the longest process, for normal healthy hair and for dry hair that has not been over-processed. Hair with enough condition to take it gets the most out of it: maximum frizz reduction, and the smoothest, most manageable result on our menu. If your last keratin wore off in weeks, book this version. Allow about four hours at either Uluwatu salon or in Ubud.
The strongest result we offer, honestly described
Of our three keratin treatments this one takes the most frizz out and leaves hair the most manageable. It does not change what your hair is, and it is not permanent: it fades gradually with each wash rather than leaving a line where new growth begins.
Built for hair with condition to spare
The stronger formulation and the longer processing time are the whole point, and they ask something of the hair in return. Normal healthy hair and dry hair that has not been over-processed have the condition to take it, which is why they get the fullest result from it. If your hair has been through colour, bleach or a perm more than once, Signature Day Keratin is the one we would put you in instead, and we will say so when we see your photo.
Four hours of frizz, gone
Bali gives hair humidity, sun and salt every day of the week, and frizz is the cuticle answering all three. Four hours of intensive work fills and seals the fibre so there is far less for the air to get into. Hair leaves smoother, healthier and quicker to dry, and it stays that way for months rather than until the next wash.
What people mean by a Brazilian treatment
This is the service people have in mind when they search for a Brazilian keratin, but the comparison stops at the result. Ours is formaldehyde-free, paraben-free and cruelty-free, and every basin runs advanced filtered water so hard water is not undoing the work while we do it. The last step does carry a strong smell, and on some people it makes the eyes sting or water. It passes, and you should know before you sit down rather than after.
Four hours, and worth booking properly
Allow about four hours including wash and styling, and more if your hair is above 60 cm. We cannot squeeze this between appointments, so message ahead rather than walking in. If you have a surf trip, a diving day or a spa retreat coming up, book the keratin for after it. Salt water, chlorine and steam all pull the treatment out early, so we would rather you kept out of the water while it lasts.

FAQs: Intense Hair Keratin: the honest answers
Is this permanent?
No. It's the strongest result we offer, but it fades gradually with each wash rather than growing out in a line. Anyone promising a permanent result from a keratin service is overselling it.
Is it the same as a Brazilian keratin treatment?
It's the same idea and a comparable result, but ours is formaldehyde-free. A lot of the reputation Brazilian treatments have, good and bad, comes down to formaldehyde, and we don't use it.
My hair is bleached. Is this the right one?
Usually not. Bleached and over-processed hair belongs in Signature Day Keratin, and if you are blonde, Mermaid Gloss Keratin. This one is built for hair with more condition to spare. Send a daylight photo on WhatsApp and we'll tell you honestly which of the three fits.
How long does it take and how far ahead should I book?
About four hours including wash and styling, longer above 60 cm. Message ahead on WhatsApp rather than walking in, especially in high season in Uluwatu.
How is this different from the Signature Day Keratin?
Who they suit. Signature Day Keratin enriches and repairs hair that colour, bleach or a perm has been through. Intense Hair Keratin runs a stronger formulation for an hour longer, and it suits normal healthy hair and dry hair that has not been over-processed. How do I make it last?
Wait 48 hours before the first wash, then use a gentle shampoo with a safe amount of sulfate, a heat protectant when you style, and dry your hair thoroughly. Keep out of the pool and the sea while the treatment is in: salt water and chlorine pull it out faster than anything else.
Does it grow out in a hard line?
No. It is semi-permanent, so it fades gradually with each wash rather than sitting there as a border between treated and new hair. Your own texture comes back progressively from the roots down, which is what makes it liveable if you cannot get back to a salon for a while.
I am colouring my hair too. Can both be done in one day?
No. Leave 2 to 4 weeks between a colour appointment and a keratin, in either order. Doing them too close together costs you the result of one or both, so tell us both plans on WhatsApp and we will sequence them properly.
