Keratin is the protein your hair is already made of. A keratin hair treatment replaces what heat, bleach and sun have stripped out, then seals it into the hair shaft. The result is your own hair, smoother, healthier, less frizzy and far quicker to dry and style. Over time your natural texture gradually returns. That is exactly how it is designed to work.
Which of the three is yours
Signature Day Keratin is for damaged, dry hair, above all hair that colour, bleach or a perm has been through more than once. Intense Hair Keratin is the stronger, longer one, and it suits normal healthy hair and dry hair that has not been over-processed. Formaldehyde-free, and why that matters here
Plenty of cheap keratin services in Bali still rely on formaldehyde to force the cuticle shut. We do not. Our products are formaldehyde-free, paraben-free and cruelty-free. They are not odourless, and we will not pretend otherwise: Signature Day Keratin, and the last step of Intense Hair Keratin, carry a strong smell that makes some people's eyes sting or water. It passes, and you should know about it before you sit down.
It starts with water
Bali's tap water is hard, and hard water undoes a keratin treatment faster than anything else. Every water source in our salons is filtered: wash stations, showers, taps and beyond. It is the single biggest reason our keratin holds. And before the wash, we brush, a small step often overlooked, but one that helps reduce tangles and minimise breakage.
Timing matters
Planning a surf trip, a diving day, a beach club weekend or a spa retreat? Book your keratin for afterwards. Keratin locks moisture and nourishment into the hair, and swimming, steam rooms and saunas pull it straight back out, so we would rather you kept out of the water while the treatment lasts. Your future hair will thank you.
Keratin is a habit
Think of keratin like vitamins. One treatment is not meant to last forever. Your hair is exposed to sunshine, salt water, styling and daily life. Over time, consistent keratin treatments can leave hair smoother, healthier, fuller and more manageable. We do not believe in sacrificing tomorrow's hair for today's transformation.

Which keratin treatment should I book?
Send us a photo on WhatsApp and we'll tell you. As a rule: Signature Day Keratin for damaged, dry or over-processed hair, Intense Hair Keratin for normal healthy hair and dry hair that has not been through much, and Mermaid Gloss Keratin if you're blonde or bleached and fighting brassiness.
Will keratin change my natural texture?
No, and that isn't what it's for. Keratin is about manageability: smoother, healthier, less frizzy hair, less styling time and less effort every morning. Your own texture is still there, and it comes back progressively as the treatment fades.
How long does keratin treatment last?
It fades gradually with each wash rather than growing out in a line. With gentle aftercare most guests get several months, and your natural texture returns progressively, which is how it's designed to work.
How long does the appointment take?
Signature Day Keratin is about three hours, Mermaid Gloss Keratin about three and a half, and Intense Hair Keratin about four, including wash and styling. Hair longer than 60 cm takes a little more product and a little more time. Message ahead rather than walking in; keratin isn't something we can squeeze between appointments.
What does a keratin treatment cost?
It depends on the version and on your hair length, so we quote it on WhatsApp rather than publish a figure that would be wrong for half the people reading it. Message us with a photo and the length and you'll have an exact answer before you commit to a chair.
When can I wash my hair afterwards?
Wait 48 hours before the first wash, then use a gentle, hydrating shampoo with a safe amount of sulfate. Dry your hair thoroughly and use a heat protectant or hair oil when you style.
Is it safe for damaged or bleached hair?
Signature Day Keratin is designed for it, and that is the one we would put damaged or over-processed hair in. All three are formaldehyde-free and rebuild fibre as they work. If your hair is severely compromised your stylist may recommend a repair treatment first. We'll say so honestly.
Does Bali humidity make a keratin treatment fade faster?
Humidity is what the treatment is fighting, not what wears it out. What shortens it is washing, and above all salt water, chlorine and steam. The shampoo you use at home is the single biggest thing you control, and a gentle one with a safe amount of sulfate is what we would put you on. Every wash here runs advanced filtered water, which is a large part of why keratin holds better in our chair than in a room using whatever comes out of the tap.
Can I swim, surf or use the pool after a keratin treatment?
We would rather you didn't while the keratin is in. Salt water, chlorine and steam pull the treatment out early, so swimming most days will cut it short. Wait 48 hours before the first wash, and if you have a diving day or a beach club weekend coming up, book the keratin for after the trip rather than before it. That way you get the whole run of it.
