Our signature keratin enrichment treatment. It calms frizz, seals shine into the cuticle and rebuilds hair that colour, bleach or a perm has been through. We put very dry, damaged hair in this chair, and it leaves softer without losing the hair you actually have. Book it at both Uluwatu salons and in Ubud.

Signature Day Keratin lays the cuticle down and seals shine into it, so your hair leaves smoother, healthier, less frizzy and far easier to manage while it keeps its own natural movement. What an anti frizz hair treatment does in this climate
Frizz is the cuticle lifting to take on moisture from the air, and Bali air has plenty to give. An enriching keratin fills and seals the fibre, so the humidity has far less to get into. That is why hair that frizzed within ten minutes of leaving the house behaves for weeks afterwards, and why your blow-dry time drops so noticeably.
Who this one is for
Damaged, dry hair, above all hair that a chemical process has been through more than once: colour, bleach, a perm, or all three. Hair that never quite feels soft again. Hair that takes forever to blow-dry, and hair that looks fine indoors and unravels the moment you step outside. If that is your hair, this is the chair we put you in.
Formaldehyde-free
Cheap keratin treatments still use formaldehyde to force the cuticle shut. Ours does not. Formaldehyde-free, paraben-free and cruelty-free. It does have a strong smell, and on some people it makes the eyes sting or water for a while. That is worth knowing before you book rather than after. Every wash runs advanced filtered water, which is the single biggest reason a keratin treatment holds here.
Making it last
Wait 48 hours before your first wash. Use a gentle, hydrating shampoo with a safe amount of sulfate. Reach for a heat protectant serum or hair oil when you style, and dry your hair thoroughly. Keratin fades gradually with each wash, exactly as it is designed to do. Salt water, chlorine and steam pull it out faster, so we would rather you stayed out of the pool while it lasts.

FAQs: Signature Day Keratin: the honest answers
Is this a permanent treatment?
No, and be careful with anyone who says otherwise. This is semi-permanent: it fades gradually with each wash rather than growing out in a hard line. Your own texture comes back progressively, which is what most people actually want.
Will it make my hair flat?
It shouldn't. We dose the treatment to keep movement in the hair rather than weigh it down. Tell your stylist if your hair goes limp easily and we'll adjust how much we use.
How is this different from the Intense Hair Keratin?
Who they suit. Signature Day Keratin enriches and repairs, and it is where damaged, dry and over-processed hair belongs. Intense Hair Keratin is stronger and runs an hour longer, and it suits normal healthy hair and dry hair that has not been through much.
How long does it last?
Several months for most guests with gentle aftercare. Swimming, steam rooms and saunas shorten it, so if you have a diving day or a beach club weekend planned, book the treatment for after the trip rather than before it.
Can I have it on colored hair?
Yes, and this is usually the one for colour-treated hair. If you're blonde or bleached, Mermaid Gloss Keratin is the better choice because it corrects tone at the same time. Leave 2 to 4 weeks between a colour appointment and a keratin either way round: they cannot be done on the same day. Send a daylight photo on WhatsApp and we'll tell you which one fits.
Why does my hair frizz again within minutes of going outside?
Because the cuticle lifts to take on moisture from the air, and Bali air has plenty to give. Your styling is not failing, the fibre is doing what an open cuticle does. Signature Day Keratin fills and seals it, so the humidity has far less to get into, and hair that unravelled ten minutes from the door behaves for weeks afterwards.
