Artisan Hair Coloring, Re-Growth

Just the regrowth, matched to what you already have

Our roots-only color: the first 2 to 3 cm redone and blended back into the color you already have. Quicker and gentler than a full color, and the fix before a few centimetres of new growth make a good color look neglected.

Only what needs doing

There is no reason to put color through lengths that are still fine. We work the regrowth and blend the join so it disappears, which means less time in the chair and less chemistry on hair that has already been processed once. Re-Growth and root touch up are the same service under two names, and you will see both on our menu and in your search results.

Balayage root touch up

Balayage is designed to grow out softly, so it asks far less of you at the root than a full color does. What it does eventually want is depth put back at the root and the join re-blended, rather than the whole head lifted again. A root touch up and balayage together is a smaller, gentler appointment than starting over, and if the ends also need brightening we will usually gloss them in the same sitting. Balayage root touch up price depends on length and how much regrowth there is, so we quote it on WhatsApp once we have seen a photo.

Matching color you had done elsewhere

Most people who come to us for roots had the original color done somewhere else, often in another country. Send a daylight photo and tell us roughly when it was done and what was used, and we will match into it rather than guessing.

Grey coverage that does not look flat

Solid, opaque grey coverage is what makes root color obvious. We tone the regrowth so it keeps some variation and reads as hair rather than as a block of color at the parting.

FAQs: Root Touch Up: the honest answers

How often do roots need doing?

Every four to six weeks for most people, sooner if the contrast between your color and your natural shade is high. Balayage stretches much further than that, which is part of why people choose it.

How much regrowth does the service cover?

The first 2 to 3 cm. If you've grown out more than that, message us with a photo, because at some point a root touch up stops being the honest recommendation and a full color is better value for the result.

Can you do a root touch up on balayage?

Yes, and it's a common request. We put depth back at the root and re-blend the join rather than re-lightening the whole head, and we can gloss the ends at the same time if they need brightening.

Can you match color done in another country?

Usually yes. Send a daylight photo on WhatsApp and tell us when it was done. That's normally enough for us to match into it.

Should I book roots or a full color?

If the lengths still look good, roots. If the ends have gone dull or brassy too, a full color or a gloss will serve you better. Send a photo and we'll say which.
